My name is Ruqayyah, and this year I’m taking on the incredible challenge of running the TCS New York City Marathon! I’m lacing up my sneakers not just for the race, but for a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart — Tackle Kids Cancer.

As a researcher at Hackensack Meridian Health, I understand and see firsthand the impact that cancer has on patients and their families. However, childhood cancer hits differently. Kids deserve to dream big, play hard, and just be kids — not fight for their lives in hospital rooms.

That’s why I’m proud to run with Team Tackle Kids Cancer — to help fund groundbreaking pediatric cancer research and provide support for brave kids and their families.

Every mile I run is for them. Every donation, big or small, helps bring us one step closer to a world without childhood cancer.
