The Cannata Report 2025 Diabetes Fundraiser Honoring Office Technology Industry Leader Mike McGuirk
- Diabetes is a rapidly growing health problem in the United States, estimated to affect more than 38 million Americans.
- Diabetes raises the risk of heart disease, circulation problems that affect the legs (leading to amputation in the most severe cases), eye problems and kidney disease, among other possible complications.
- According to the CDC, in 2021 8.7 million adults aged 18 years or older were not aware of or did not report having diabetes.
Please join The Cannata Report to support diabetes research at The Inserra Family Diabetes Institute at Hackensack Meridian Hackensack University Medical Center in memory of Mike McGuirk, the beloved owner of ProCopy Office Solutions, a Flex Technology Group company based in Mesa, Arizona. McGuirk, a respected leader, innovator, and philanthropist in the office technology industry, passed away in 2024. He served as president of the Business Technology Association West from 2020 to 2022 and was a member of the National BTA Board from 2022 to 2024. McGuirk served as a member of the Arizona State University Alumni Board and Council and was a member of the Executive Association of Greater Phoenix. Under his direction, the ProCopy Foundation, ProCopy's nonprofit group established in 2010, has raised over $120,000 for local Phoenix area youth.

This marks the 11th time The Cannata Report will raise funds for research and patient care for HMHF. In 2023, The Cannata Report raised funds to support breast cancer research at the Hackensack Meridian Center for Discovery and Innovation. The Cannata Report has collectively raised approximately $1.75 million for Hackensack Meridian Hackensack Foundation in recent years.
