Help me tackle cancer!
My late father, Bentley, was an avid marathon runner having completed 13 marathons in his life (including his favourite, the NYC Marathon, twice). His story was sadly and abruptly cut short with a colorectal cancer diagnosis in 2015 and a five year struggle with the merciless disease.
He remained as optimistic as possible throughout his battle with cancer and hoped to once again run the NYC marathon some day. Unfortunately life had other plans. In my Dad's memory, I will continue his legacy as I will run the 2025 NYC Marathon in November.
On the bright side, my Dad lived a healthy, happy and successful 59 years. It's important to be grateful for what we have, rather than focus on what we don't. To that effect, there are too many stories of children with cancer who haven't had the time or life experience that my Dad was fortunate to have.
I care about finding a cure for pediatric cancer, and I hope you do too. The Children’s Cancer Institute at Hackensack Meridian Health has stood as a beacon of hope for children and families dealing with pediatric cancer… but more can be done. Pediatric cancer is the #1 cause of death by disease among children in the US and only 4% of cancer research dollars are allocated to pediatric cancer. These facts are devastating, but the doctors at the Children’s Cancer Institute are working tirelessly to find a cure. Please support us and help end childhood cancer!
Raising money to find a cure is a marathon – not a sprint. We have a long way to go, and every dollar helps! Even $20 would make a big difference for the pediatric cancer patients at the Children's Cancer Institute.
Thank you for supporting my run. Together we can make a bigger impact in this fight against pediatric cancer.
Remember…together WE CAN Tackle Kids Cancer!
