Hello, my name is Thomas O'Rourke and I am running the TCS New York City Marathon to raise funds in support of pediatric cancer research in partnership with Tackle Kids Cancer. All money raised will benefit the Children’s Cancer Institute at Hackensack Meridian Health in hopes of helping their patients become kids again!

I care about finding a cure for pediatric cancer. Do you? We hope so. The Children’s Cancer Institute at Hackensack Meridian Health has stood as a beacon of hope for children and families dealing with pediatric cancer since 1987, but they need our help. Pediatric cancer is the #1 cause of death by disease among children in the U.S. and only 4% of cancer research dollars are allocated to pediatric cancer. These statistical facts are devastating. Still, the doctors at the Children’s Cancer Institute are working tirelessly to find a cure. Please support us in our efforts to end childhood cancer for good.

Raising money to find a cure is a marathon – not a sprint! We have a long way to go, and every dollar helps! Even $20 would make a big difference for the pediatric cancer patients at the Children's Cancer Institute.

I have grown my hair out and donated it to cancer patients on two separate occasions, the last time I donated it to Wigs For Kids. This cause is important to me. I recently found out about Tackle Kids Cancer and couldn't be happier to raise money for such an awesome organization; the opportunity to do so by running the NYC Marathon is especially meaningful for me. I’ve watched the race a few times and it has truly inspired me, so I hope to be able to inspire others.
