My name is Kaylee and here is my story. I was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on June 19th, 2023 after I fell at home and broke my leg. I was bedridden for 10+ weeks and "lived" at Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital at Hackensack Meridian Health until I had my surgery called rotationplasty. I finally went home on September 23rd and continued to receive my chemotherapy treatments as inpatient and outpatient. It wasn't easy but I always remained hopeful that everything will be ok. I was always surrounded by family, friends, my doctors and nurses and my community that gave me love and support throughout my journey.

On February 2nd, 2024, I rang my end of treatment bell and now I can enjoy being a kid again. But I will never forget what it was like to be in the hospital.

I will be participating in the #TeamTKC: Powered by Eli’s Challenge 2024. All money raised will support Tackle Kids Cancer and Hackensack Meridian Health Children’s Cancer Institute, funding critical research and innovative patient care programs.
