I’m so excited to be running my first ever 26.2 miles this November for the 2022 NYC Marathon. I will be running with Tackle Kids Cancer to raise my goal of $7,500 in support of pediatric cancer research. Pediatric cancer is the #1 cause of death by disease among children in the US and only 4% of cancer research dollars today are allocated to pediatric cancer. All money raised will support research at the Children’s Cancer Institute at Hackensack Meridian Health. 

I chose to run with this organization to support my buddy Colin Ludwig (pictured left). What started with his mom babysitting my brothers and me ~20 years ago has turned into a lifelong friendship in which I've been able to watch Colin grow up like a brother to me.

At the age of 3, Colin was diagnosed with Pre-b ALL Leukemia. Over a 2-year battle fighting cancer, he and his family faced countless sleepless nights, surgeries and drastic life changes. On November 12, 2021, Colin rang the bell at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital to celebrate conquering the battle and being cancer free.

To Colin, I’m “nosepicker” (for obvious reasons). To me, Colin is a beacon of strength and hope, providing daily inspiration for what’s possible. With the help of your donation to support Tackle Kids Cancer, we are working together to give other kids a chance to ring the bell too.
