Mindy's 2025 Walk for Brain Tumor Research
Please join me once again in my fundraising walk to support the Hackensack Meridian John Theurer Cancer Center. Your generosity today helps support the Caroline Vandemark Fund for Brain and Spine Tumor Research. I decided to support this important cause because it holds great meaning to me.
Willy used to say that life would throw him curve balls and he would hit them every single time. He was always a fighter, but when he was diagnosed with glioblastoma –the most lethal type of brain cancer of which there is no cure for, all he wanted to do was fight to beat it.
Watching him fighting for his life, when there was no chance he would survive, made me realize how short life can be and how we never know what tomorrow can bring. With all his struggles and suffering that he endured, on Jan. 27, 2021 we lost him to this awful cancer. In my heart I knew I had to do something and so I am fighting for him in my own way and the best way is to raise money for glioblastoma research to find a cure. When he was diagnosed with Glioblastoma back in 2019 and given his age of 59 years, he was given approx. 16 months to live. Today anyone over 60 can survive up to 24-28 months.
I can't believe this will be my 4th walk and Willy will be gone almost 5 years. On September 21, 2025 I will walk for 3 miles in William Nash’s honor to help raise money for a cure for Glioblastoma.
