The Bob and Karen Weiss Memorial Scholarship Fund

Please join us in fundraising in support of The Bob and Karen Weiss Memorial Scholarship Fund. Created to honor the memory of Bob and Karen Weiss, this fund supports nursing scholarships at Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
Karen and Bob met while attending Michigan State University and they were married in July 1975. Bob received a dual Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Physiology, beginning as a chemist and pursuing a 45 year career in the pharmaceutical industry with Bristol Myers-Squibb while Karen found her passion in nursing. Karen attended the Charles E. Gregory School of Nursing, graduating in 1980, and received her Bachelor’s of Nursing from Kean University in 1987. She worked throughout NJ for many years as a critical care nurse (CCRN), was a critical care nurse educator, and most recently served as a wound ostomy certified nurse (WOCN) at Bayshore Medical Center. Karen was a devoted nurse and took great pride in the profession. In addition to her many other talents, she was a wonderful and caring mentor and friend who went above and beyond for those in need. This scholarship is created to honor both her and Bob's lives of dedication to healthcare and service.
The creation of The Bob and Karen Weiss Memorial Scholarship Fund will help support the education and further educational opportunities of nursing student(s). With the help of supporters like you, Jersey Shore University Medical Center can continue to make strides in the community and improve the lives of patients they serve. Every dollar raised, no matter the size, has an impact. Thank you for supporting our team in raising funds for this incredible cause!
