September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Tackle Kids Cancer is celebrating 10 years of hope–and we’re throwing a fundraiser dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research. Please come join Kaia and our family on Saturday, September 27, from 4-8pm at The Straphanger in Hackensack to make an impact to help kids fighting cancer.
Kaia was diagnosed with a high risk form of Leukemia in 2015, when she was only 7 years old. Needless to say we were devastated and heartbroken. During the most challenging time in our lives, we were approached by a new organization, TKC, to share our story and without hesitation we agreed. Joining Tackle Kids cancer and their efforts, helped our family feel a sense of hope in a time where we felt both helpless and hopeless. Now 10 years later, Kaia remains cancer free and we are celebrating TKC’s milestone.
Only about 4% of federal funding goes to childhood cancer research and sadly that number has remained the same since Kaia’s diagnosis in 2015. But thanks to organizations like Tackle Kids Cancer, there is more research being done to support the cure for our children who are affected by cancer. So, please join us and Kaia (one of TKC’s original MVP’s) for a fun evening filled with prizes, good food, music and help our survivor raise money for a cause so close to our hearts.
